DUBAI MARITIME CITY DOCKS ITS LARGEST-EVER VESSEL
Dubai, UAE – 16 Sept 2026: Dubai Maritime City (DMC) has successfully completed the docking of MT Cabri, a 145-metre tanker, marking the largest vessel ever docked at the DMC Shipyard. The docking operation was completed in three and a half hours by a team of 38 employees, surpassing the facility’s previous vessel-length record of 135 metres set in 2020. The milestone reflects the range and complexity of vessels that can be serviced in Dubai, supporting growing demand for advanced maritime repair and maintenance. MT Cabri is currently undergoing the installation of a ballast water treatment system which cleans and treats water carried on board the vessel, along with hull treatment and other repairs at the facility. During the operation, MT Cabri was precisely maneuvered onto the shipyard’s lifting system before being transferred to the repair area. The complex movement was completed safely and efficiently, demonstrating the facility’s capacity to accommodate large vessels. The record docking strengthens Dubai Maritime City’s role in the emirate’s maritime ecosystem and reflects continued investment in the infrastructure, expertise and operational capacity needed to support larger and more complex vessel projects.
